Summer Party Furniture Hire Sydney: Outdoor Events Done Right

Sydney summers and outdoor parties go hand in hand. Pool parties, backyard BBQs, garden parties, rooftop drinks — they all need somewhere for guests to put their plates and lean against while they talk. Cocktail tables and bar stools are built for exactly this, and they handle outdoor conditions better than you’d think.

Here’s what to consider when you’re hiring furniture for a summer event, and what it’ll cost.

Sun, Heat and Choosing the Right Colour

If your event is during the day, go with white furniture. It reflects heat rather than absorbing it, so your tables won’t be hot to touch by mid-afternoon. Black furniture looks great for evening events but can get uncomfortable in direct sunlight.

Both our cocktail tables and bar stools come in black or white, so you can match the vibe and the conditions.

For daytime events, try to position tables under shade where possible — under trees, near the house, or under a marquee. Your guests will naturally gravitate towards the shade anyway, so put the furniture where people actually want to stand.

Wind — It’s Less of a Problem Than You Think

People often ask whether cocktail tables blow over in the wind. Ours are sturdy and stable on grass, pavers, timber decking, and concrete. The stretch covers fit snugly over the table, so they don’t flap around like a loose tablecloth would.

That said, if you’re on an exposed rooftop or beachfront, keep an eye on anything lightweight you place on top — napkins, menus, that sort of thing. The tables themselves aren’t going anywhere.

Setup Timing Tips for Hot Days

If you’re getting delivery, book a morning drop-off. Setting up furniture in the cool of the morning is far more pleasant than wrestling with it at 2pm in 35-degree heat. Our delivery team can get everything to you early so it’s sorted well before your guests arrive.

The 4-day hire period makes this easy. You don’t need to set up and pack down on the same day. Get delivery the day before, set up at your pace, and return everything the day after.

What Summer Parties Typically Need

Here’s a rough guide based on the events we’ve done:

  • Backyard BBQ (15-25 guests): 2-3 cocktail tables, 4-6 bar stools — $60-$90
  • Pool party (30-50 guests): 4-6 cocktail tables, 8-10 bar stools — $120-$170
  • Garden party (50-80 guests): 6-10 cocktail tables, 12-20 bar stools — $180-$300

Cocktail tables are $20 each (including a stretch cover in black or white). Bar stools are $5 each.

Outdoor Venues and Private Hire Spaces

If you’re hiring an outdoor venue — a park, a winery, a waterfront space — check whether they provide furniture or if you need to bring your own. A lot of outdoor venues are essentially a beautiful empty space, and you’re expected to furnish it yourself.

We deliver across Sydney:

  • 0-10km from Kingsgrove: $100 each way
  • 10-20km: $150 each way
  • 20-30km: $200 each way
  • 30-40km: $250 each way

Free pickup from our Kingsgrove warehouse is always available if you’d rather save on delivery.

No Minimum Order

Need just two tables for a small balcony gathering? That’s fine. There’s no minimum order, so you hire exactly what you need. We’ve done over 460 events since 2019, from two-table apartment setups to 30-table outdoor weddings.
